Registration

To keep the conference fee as low as possible, we have decided to offer the option of choosing from a range of packages.

 The general conference fee covers attendance for all four days (including the excursion on Thursday 21 May) and all coffee breaks. The general conference fee is €170.

We also offer a buffet lunch at the museum on Tuesday 19 May, Wednesday 20 May and Friday 21 May, priced at €38 per day. Please indicate your interest on the registration form. On Thursday 21 May, we will be offering lunch at the excursion for free.

The museum is located in the center of Klagenfurt. You will therefore find supermarkets, bakeries and other restaurants close by.

We have organised some evening events that you are more than welcome to join. Please indicate your interest on the registration form.

On Wednesday 20 May, we are offering a guided tour of the city centre (starting at 18:00 at the museum), followed by dinner at Restaurant Felsenkeller. The cost is €60 per person (including two drinks per person).

On Thursday 21 May, there will be a conference dinner with a special music act. This event is supported by the International Wood Culture Society/World Wood Day Foundation. It will take place at the Hotel Sandwirth, starting at 19:00. The cost is €92 (including three drinks per person).

On Friday 22 May, we invite you to join us on a two-hour boat trip on Lake Wörthersee, with light refreshments and two drinks per person included. We will present our new book, Wood Utilisation, during the trip. This event is sponsored by BOKU. Please tick the relevant box on the registration form (the maximum number of people is 100, as determined by the boats). For free.

On Monday 18 May, you can choose from the following options. Please note that all options take the whole day:

Option 1: Forest (€75 including transport and lunch)

Option 2: Woodbuilding company Hasslacher (€75 including transport and lunch)

On Saturday 23 May, you can choose from the following options. Please note that all options take the whole day:

Option 1: Ljubljana moor and handicraft centre Ribnica (€110 including transport, entrance fees and lunch)

Option 2: Hallstatt (€110 including transport and lunch, ending in Vöcklabruck – no return to Klagenfurt)

Registration is complete once payment has been made, which must be done by bank transfer before 15 April 2026. Please make your selection regarding the invoice:

1) We can provide an invoice stating “Conference fee” and giving the total costs for all the options you selected. 2) We can issue two invoices: one for the general conference fee and another for the options you have selected.

After submitting the registration form, you will receive an invoice via email.

The conference venue has a capacity of 120 people. If we receive too many abstract proposals or registrations, we will follow the principle of 'first come, first served'.
